I rebuilt the caliper this spring,   filled and bled it with DOT3.    
Last month the master  started leaking out the rear,   and was worried  the  DOT3  'killed it'.

That's what led me to  figuring out what the heck they reccomend,  after spending  almost 800 bucks for new seal kits and  2 brake pads!!  
I  think I'm ok  after  seeing the  SAE specs.   It  was  just  'time', not fluid that killed the  master cylinder.
