coast of Maine | The majority of the EU now charges a tax to producers of products that contain plastics.I think its near 40 cents lb.This is supposed to reduce disposal.Of course that is the stated goal.It seems not to be the result but it does cause cash to flow to the government.I had never heard of this tax until my cousin whom makes fish traps in the EU with plastic coated wire.Gets an invoice for big $$ last week.I assume the greenies will jump on this cash stream next.Milk jugs etc,,will be taxed. | |
