Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn. | I installed the cross auger clutch unload system several years ago (Lankota kit).
In our situation the tank is almost always unloaded completely making the next cycle reasonably easy.
If I see that I will not be able to completely empty the tank and auger, I will step on the clutch switch box which shuts off the cross augers and allows the horizontal auger to run empty. I then disengage the auger and remove my foot from the switch. I then of course, ALWAYS fold the auger back to its cradle where it is completely supported. Besides being safer this is my nonverbal indication to the cart driver that I'm done and he can pull away.
This means that for the next cycle the horizontal auger will be empty and as light as possible. I swing the auger out and engage the unload switch and proceed to unload the tank.
Moving the cross auger covers might also reduce the start up load on the augers but could increase the unload time. |
