WAG, but with a Lex, you were most likely were taking it in and out of auto by muscle memory.

Left/Right of the header height control is manual up/down, but up/down is auto up and down presets.

If you manually raise or lower a Lex, it stays where it's set at height wise and tilt wise until you re engage auto by pushing down on the button.

It's all done with the same rocker button on a Lex so maybe that's the issue?
