SW Ontario | I started with a CFX 750 with RTX on my planting tractor with the Autopilot valve, & then switch the unit to my spraying tractor with a EZ-steer setup. (2 tractors with each has a auto steer attachments & separate antennas & 1 CFX)
Soon I expanded to a second 750 with WAAS correction for the sprayer tractor & a 3rd tractor with EZ-pilot steering for tillage.
I upgraded to a 2050 8 years ago with RTK on the same planting tractor. I've run the FMX program on it rather than the PIQ it also has.
In the subsequent years I've gotten 2 1050's with PIQ (only) program with Nav 900 antenna's in the sprayer & tillage tractors with only WAAS correction.
I'm finding the WAAS correction is no longer very accurate at all. On revisits to a field spraying, a previous AB line made following planted rows is not only off but the heading has changed. Maybe I'm expecting too much, but felt 4-5 years ago the WAAS correction was more accurate in subsequent visits to the same field in a growing season.
I actually prefer the FMX program to the PIQ program.
I'm currantly considering getting a Centerpoint or Rangepoint unlock for my spraying 1050. I would like to connect my sprayer for swath control. I'm now skeptical on how successful that move would be. | |
