What are you trying to gain? There are definitely some things that are nicer than the old 750 in the field and line management department. That said, I bought a 1260 and nav900 for planting this spring to replace a 2050 that we moved to a different tractor. I have an Fm1000 in the sprayer tractor as well and ran the 2050 on FmX plus. At the end of the day, the 1260 worked fine but I am not a huge fan of the interface.

It seemed like I had to press more buttons to accomplish the same things. Like to switch between a headland line and an infill ab line, you have to go into a field management screen and make the infill line active. On the fmx you just hit next line. It's easy. Boundary recording on the 1260 became more complicated as well. There also seems like a ton of wasted space on the screen when running field iq. The whole lower half is white with a couple lines of info, the UT is in the top right corner, and the little tiny map is top left. I much prefer the older fmx interface. For the money I spent if I had to do it again, I'd probably look pretty hard at something else, possibly at giving another brand a shot. I just wish they would port the FmX plus app into the 1260 just like they did on the 2050. Do that and I am a happy camper.

On that topic, it seems like trimble is just mailing it in with their pf line. The old FmX from 2009 is technically more capable than any of the PIQ displays. The only reason the 2050 turned out half decent was because the FmX interface and capabilites were brought into it. It gets old buying the latest displays from a company and they are not even as capable as the one they replaced. For another example, I wouldn't mind having the option to do some implement guidance in the future with the 1260. It has the connection for a second receiver. But can it do anything with that port? Not as far as I know other than land leveling. But yet the old FMD had passive and active implement guidance back in the late 2000s.

Sorry about the rant, and if you have a good dealer give the 1260 a look and decide for yourself. If not, I wouldn't feel bad about looking around a little at other options.
