Subject: Chinese 3" flow meter leakage problems

Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
Earlier I posted about my success with a Chinese battery operated flow meter. It continues to work well. Originally I had leaks between it and my NPT quick couplers. On my second attempt, I used plenty of Rector seal and Teflon tape. I thought this solved the leakage problem. I now notice that I do have a slight but tolerable leak between the flow meter and the quick coupler on the outlet side.

I liked the flow meter and ordered a second one. It came with a different name on it but appears to be identical to the first one. I had leakage problems with this one also. Someone mentioned the possibility of BSPT threads rather than NPT that my quick couplers use.

Recently I saw another Ad for these flow meters which stated BSPT. Today I found Quick Couplers from McMaster-Carr that appear to use 3" BSPT threads. I plan on ordering a pair, hopefully this will solve my leakage problems.

I certainly hope that these quick couplers will mate properly with my fleet of BanJo Quick couplers.
