South Eastern VA		Everyone in my area does strip in the spring with and without the planter attached. We all have sandy soil so it’s a common thing.

Everyone here uses a broadcast system for P and K. Almost all nitrogen goes in or near the strip.

I know that’s not what you asked but there’s a million different ways to do it.
