Ever since Deere changed the filters from the dzxxx8180 to this dz 118236, I’ve had trouble too. I think the rubber square o-ring is too hard or something on the top to the filter has lost its old “square” shape.
I really dip my o ring in oil and then hand tight filter then about another 1/8 turn. If it seeps, I tighten it in about 1/2 inch outer circumference moves. Less is more when I’m trying to tweak the seal…
