I paid for a small project on a rented farm many years ago and asked my landlord if she wanted to pay the tiling bill and I'd add the cost to her rent check.
Her accountant wanted it done that way, I don't remember the reason. Something about having expenses and participating in activities on the farm was a positive thing to have on record.
