Monroe City, MO | We have a 45-foot hydraulic on our shop and a 45 bifold on a cold storage building. The hydraulic is mounted outside the building and we lose no headroom. The bifold mounts where we lose about 2 feet. Hydraulic door allows full width to be accessed. The bifold has a latching mechanism on both side that reduces the width of the door about a foot. Both open in abut 40 seconds. As you said bifold opens better when there is snow in front of the door. Hydraulic door is in finished shop and is a smooth surface. Bi fold is not finished but would not be smooth as you would see the motors and straps as well as a few brackets that hold the straps in line when raising. we lucked out. I like the hydraulic since it is insulated and would not want a bifold on a shop. Conversely, our bifold is on a cold storage and Ilike the fact that is raises without shoveling snow after a storm |
