You are exactly correct Tom. It eliminated the need for adhoc disaster programs, at least until Trump became President the first time!
Those who worry about this have too much time on their hands. Like it or not, when Trump cancels signed and valid contracts because he doesn't like them then the credibility of his current company (USA) can no longer be trusted.
Maybe we are at that point?
I'm real hesitant to get off on the political angle involved in agricultural program expenditures, but for sure both parties do a lot of huffing and puffing, most of it just bluster, before anything becomes set in stone...at least until the next farm bill. Interesting times! |
