Roseglen, North Dakota
After reading all the informational posts above, it is evident to me the dif between 1560 and 1590 is the same as dif between 1860 and 1890. We never had an 1890 but put many acres on the 1860: I personally liked that boot--bottom halves were quick and easy to change, and for 3-4 years Deere run a special on those boots, you could buy them for 1/2 price--$15.00.
And you are dead on about zerks on 90 series and none on 60 series. How well I know because we drilled and tapped 136 holes (68 openers x 2) to put zerks in the 60 series. But seems like fine dirt gets in pivot points and they seize up anyway. Deere rep says they may go back to no zerks.
Either boot is fine--what makes them even better is rain; I haven't found that either boot guarantees that.
