Parker, SD | Photo tach would be the easiest, a lot of mechanics shops probably have one, maybe you have a connection to borrow one. You place a piece of reflective on the shaft and hold it up. There are tachometer gauges with a rubber stub on them you just push up against the end of the shaft and read RPM. I picked up a cheaper phototach from napa, I don't remember how much, $150 maybe? It also has a lead you can clamp on plug wires. I use it for tuning 2 stroke engines mostly, but the photo part comes in handy too. | |
