Yes, it still engages with the plug disconnected from the switch.

It's a four pin connector with two wires coming out of it. A blue and a white. So, one of those will show voltage and one will ground? Continuity between the two with the power off should indicate a short?

I have located a round connector upline. It is where the blue wire ends and changes to some other color. It then goes into the big harness that ends up at the smartrax box. I can at least disconnect there and maybe isolate the short.

Is it a normally open switch that closes when the steering wheel is turned? If so, then wouldn't it be a broken wire rather than a shorted wire?
