North Mississippi Delta / Alabama Gulf Coast | There is a recall on ‘14-‘16 Expeditions AC blower motor.
Might be related to your issue.
I dropped my 16 Expedition off at a local dealer for 2 recalls Monday. One was leaking brake booster and most recent was a faulty blower motor that could “erupt in flames while driving”.
I called and went to website in February when receiving the 2nd recall and was blown off by Ford, “ No info available for this VIN” for blower motor and I had already been told would be contacted when brake master cylinder was available from the first recall last year.
Move ahead to now,
Smelled smoke driving last Thursday and fan quit blowing, turned it off and got hot quick (113 heat index days). Flipped it back on and it ran a few seconds and started smelling burnt again.
No help from Ford website re: Recall info not available.
The online chat came up with a real person so, what the heck, might get some help after all.
Check VIN again and yes, there are 2 recalls on it.
I explained the burnt fan motor acting like a hysterical woman on edge of nervous break down, (car is still in wife’s name) and immediate response was to contact a local dealer.
When I gave the service manager the VIN, the response was unbelievably positive.
“Please bring it in Monday and we will fix both recalls”
We will see how this ends.
