We switched farm emails to Gmail about 3 yrs ago. Works great. No problems. Viewable from many sources. And, when you read your email address to someone over the phone, about 99.999% of people recognize the "At G mail dot com" explanation with no questions asked.

I'd vote for the switch to gmail.
