I’m still selling hay for that price and it’s slow moving. Fixed costs stay the same essentially, so yield will make a large difference on per bale costs. You could make $85 work IF you have a good yield, guessing that would involve replanting and fertilizer. 2 bales is 1 1/2 ton per acre, lot easier to spend money if the average is 4-5 ton/ac.
