Estimated value of hay, minus cost per ton to put it up. Example, produces 100 1,000 pound bales or 50 tons. If hay is 100 per ton that makes it $5000 minus cost per ton (or bale) to put it up. There are always intangibles, how close, keeping relationship with land owner, etc.
