Nusbaum Farms LLC Bellfountain, OR | I was reading back through the high houred combines thread tonight and it made me wonder if there will be as many of the current machines still running in 30 years as there are of the late 70's-early 80's stuff now. I realize that lots of folks say that the electronics will be the downfall of the late model stuff as it ages, but I'm guessing there will be some guru's that will develop a knack for troubleshooting & repairing this stuff over the years, and are able to specialize in that field. Might already be happening I suppose.
It won't be too long before a new 'bine is half a million dollars, that's just too much money to only last ten, fifteen short years. At some point longevity is going to have to be designed in.
Others' thoughts on this?
