| I agree with figuring out a way to avoid paying Intuit another penny.
Alternatives that I've seen include:
- Stick with any version of QB desktop that you currently have that doesn't have the word "Plus" in the name (anything with plus is subscription based)
- If you want to be tied in with QB Desktop for as long as possible then you NEED to subscribe to a Plus Desktop version by July 31st. They won't sell new Desktop subscriptions after July 31st as a part of their plan to force people to QB online. If you have a subscription they'll keep renewing it (until some arbitrary point when they stop allowing renewals)
PC Mars Redwing Centerpoint - Pretty expensive but also pretty serious software Traction - Also ag focused. Very expensive. I haven't looked into it a ton but I think they are working towards integrating precision ag data into it? Xero - looks pretty good as far as more affordable subscription based stuff. Supposedly good tech support (nice compared to how terrible Intuit tech support is) Zarmoney - web based but similar feel to quickbooks desktop and again much cheaper. kindof a thinly veiled quickbooks knockoff really. Medlin - desktop or online, very cheap, payroll comes with it. Haven't studied it a ton though
