South Central NE | Found newborn calf this morning, & it looked to be dead at first sight. He wasn't dead but real weak & has a huge nutsack the size of a smaller football. Took him to the vet & for some reason it was filled with blood, put in a needle in two places & that's what came out. The blood would quit flowing if he squeezed off the sack, so we both thought banding him might be the best "cure" as it would stop loss of blood. Drenched him with some colostrum & just let him soak up the sun.Hope and pray that it works, but he is standing up tonight on his own!
