Subject: Using twine under silage wrap

Kingdom of Callaway - Fulton, Mo 65251

I have always been told, and also have always read on here that you aren't supposed to use sisal twine to tie big round silage bales with that are being wrapped.

Not that I am missing the slow speed of using twine, but what goes wrong with doing it?  Is it a physical problem where the bale loosens up?  Or is it a chemical reaction between the twine and the plastic film wrap?

Has anyone actually tried it?  Not second hand knowledge, but actually tried it?
