Subject: Spring seeding a fescue/clover mix into cover?

Missouri

I have ~30 acres in three odd shaped fields I really want to put to grass, but I have never spring seeded fescue before. The fields have late fall drilled cereal rye on it now and I meant to get clover spread in the snow, but never got around to it. Has anyone drilled fescue and red clover into rye in the spring and had good luck? I have yet to fertilize the rye and the stand looks to be around a bushel on 7.5" rows. I would be renting a decent 3 box drill. Just drill it as the rye is waking up and then take the rye off the top or take the rye early and hope I get it in and going before summer sets in? Bad idea all the way around and just wait for fall?
