Finally got it all enclosed in a project box and mounted below the motor/gearbox.

Made it a bit more complicated than necessary mainly just for the fun of it, for a proof of concept of various components and for the "Rube Goldberg" aspect.

1st fuse is for incoming power is 8 amps then to rotary switch which illuminates when turned on. This also powers up the timer on the 2 black leads going into it. The powered red lead coming from the timer, that triggers the load, first goes to a 7 amp fuse then powers the indicator lamp and buzzer and 110 outlet. Timer is rated at 10 amps and this is to protect the timer from anything more than 7 amp load.

Here the green rotary switch is on and the timer shows 0 on initial time delay in upper display and 0 on run time in lower display. It has already ran  a timer cycle. To run another you simply press the power button on the timer to restart the sequence.

Here is the project box mounted under the motor. The offset mount is so there is no interference when coupled up to planter.

Here the light and alarm are both on as it is running a timed cycle.

Here is a video of it running.

Turn rotary switch on and then press power button on timer unit to initiate time delay count down to start, then timed run in seconds, and then shutting off. Pressing the power button on the timer restarts the entire sequence.

Timer can be set many different ways this is the setup I chose.

Hope others find the info helpful if they are in need of such a device. I'm guessing a relay could be incorporated to handle heavier loads or trigger motor starters.
