Subject: Piggyback programmable timer for electric motor ????

Not sure that is an accurate description but am wondering if such a component is already out there ready to go vs making something ?

Figured maybe in a dryer or grain handling setups there may be something like this ?

Have a electric motor between 1/2 - 1 hp that will run a gear reduction unit.

Would like to be able to punch in a specific run time in seconds up to maybe 5 minutes total.

A the end of the specified time it needs to kill power to the motor stopping rotation. Needs to be fairly precise down to the second.

I am envisioning something like a foot pedal control or sump pump float switch that piggybacks into the electrical cord. Like pictures attached.

Is this the correct term or what do I need to search for ?

Any ideas or links to something like this would be appreciated.
