I received a e-mail yesterday afternoon, that the Triumph of Ag Expo or Omaha farm show has been postponed.
Was to be next week, Wednesday and Thursday or Thursday and Friday.
For me this makes a full year of canceled shows or the ‘everything is going to be OK’- term - Postponed.
June Pork Expo - State fairgrounds in Des Moines. Fun to go there when not so packed with people.
Iowa State Fair in August. Have not been for a couple years, but since I now have a scooter, going to go.
Farm Progress Show - I do not go, just too crowded for an old man, but I like to drive up there to see the happenings.
Clay County Fair - Since I have been going for many years, I decided to go to Spencer and look the fair grounds area over from outside the fence.
County 4-H fair was on. Went on grounds, really enjoyed myself.
Husker Harvest Days - Cancelled
Peoria Farm Show - Have went for several years. Missed 2018 because it was just too far below zero.
Nebraska Ag Expo - Big farm show in Lincoln. Postponed from normal early December to this week, Feb 23, 24, 25. I did go and glad I did.
Have went as guest of Kooiker Brothers to January Pork deal in Des Moines, assume it did not happen this year.
Iowa Ag Expo - The only one I go to that was not postponed or cancelled.
Was held on the normal dates.
I bet there were a lot of ‘What should we do??’ meetings.
Also quite a few other things. My local town’s fall deal, RAGBRAI, etc
Has been a rough year for the event / farm show business. Would bet some will never return.
