| With sales of most consumer and agricultural products on the rise throughout Covid, I’m sure the exhibitors are realizing just how unnecessary the modern trade show has become and, most importantly, the significant amount of resources that have been saved by not participating. The internet has replaced the trade show. Popular companies that are major draws at trade shows are already cancelling out of major Fall ‘21 international shows due to Covid’s threat of new strains and the uncertainty of the vaccine and questionable heard immunity. Why risk it? On the flip side, Covid is definitely improving the overall efficiency of doing business. It’s proved that physical overhead costs really aren’t as necessary and the flexibility of working remotely is rapidly prevailing over the structure of having to report to an office or facility, thanks to the internet, which should also allow production and repair employees who do have to report to become more focused.
