North of London | A while ago there was a discussion about old grain bin and i promised to update when i accomplished the goal of repurposing a bin I originally constructed over 50 years ago.
It served us well.
Repurposed it after the first 20 or so years and put it on a new pad with full floor aeration to improve from the original X trough and small fan. Old pad was breaking down so updated fan to a big one and air dried corn in it for another 20-30 years but after tearing down a barn near it I needed to bring a new hydro supply to it and chose to quit drying and storing corn so there it sat. Sold aeration floor and fan and thought rather than scrap I could use it for small item storage so today was the day
Opened it up and closed it back up.
Still some finishing touches on doors and will use cut out panels to patch opening fan was in and some holes for augers to move corn to feed room
This will give you an idea of what we did, now we will see if we can fill it up and if it withstand weather.
Going to add some flashing around door frame to help slow down water and not sure how we will make out at bottom of door but we can keep anything off floor that water might damage and it will soon dry out as there is a slope out on pad.

We purchased 2 sheets of plywood and six hinges.
Hardware was inventory and wood frame was salvage from deck neighbour took out.
around $150 out of pocket
