Subject: Winter wheat population on light soils?

NW IL
We picked up a new field on some very light soils. (Most of ours are quite heavy, so I'm not sure how to treat this one.)

Do you generally keep wheat seeding rates the same on light soils as you do heavy, or do you back off like you would corn? Or plant heavier for shading and potential germination issues?

We tend to get ample fall and spring moisture... but being sand it will disappear faster..?

Also, what about seeding depth? Our dry August has dried out things, even with 7" of rain a week ago, and no rain in the forecast for the next 10 days. Put it down at 2in or leave it closer to 1-1.5?

Location: NW IL, Will be planting next week, no-tilling into bean stubble with a JD 750. L334 SRWW
