God's Country (N.C. Ia) | Long story short, when the oil cooler went, it pumped the oil into the cooling system, which resulted in a couple scorched pistons blah, blah, blah, it’s junk. I never liked cats much anyway. As far as chopping silage goes, we’re getting along with a 4440, and a 782 new holland pulltype. Not to knock any of you that run the same set up, but man do I miss the self-propelled unit. Almost makes me ill driving down 12 foot tall corn to start a new land. But back to the royal revival in question. Now I know it would be pretty easy to find and use a 6-53 Detroit, but I never much cared for the screamers , not to mention they’re not very torquey. It was suggested that I do a little modification to the frame to accommodate something in the way of a Deere 466, but I was thinking maybe an IH DT466 might be a better bet because they like to run at a higher rpm (the kitty spun 2800 wide open). Anyone done something like this to their Queen? Any thoughts, and advice much appreciated, and remember to have a safe and most Blessed harvest season y’all. | |
