Subject: Buckhorn problem in lawn and in hay fields

NW Ohio,near Findlay
I have a problem weed, buckhorn, in my lawn that seems to always survive regardless what or when I spray the lawn. Have used most all commercial lawn sprays, all different mixtures, spring, fall, it will burn the top off, think it is dead, but always comes back. Have used small hand sprayers on really bad areas that have been there forever and can kill them with 24D and roundup, but that sometimes will not kill that pesky weed, will sprout out from tap root. I'm not a perfect lawn type guy, just don't like mowing lawn in middle of summer just for the buckhorn stems. Also, in my yard, only notice it in hot, dry conditions, mulberrie trees. Same sprout, never gets big from mowing, but never goes away. Also, have spot sprayed those and will always be there next year.

Also have a friend that bales hay and I notice in second cutting hay, field has so much buckhorn in it too. Is this weed in hay fields common? Does it ruin the quality of hay or do horses or cows eat it? Just curious.
