Back in about 1942 my dad made an offer to my older sister and me. I believe we were to get a penny apiece for each buckhorn removed. I believe we made $7.00 that afternoon. The thing is: that lawns has no buckhorn today even though it starts right away along the road. Yes, I dug out a few 3 or 4 years ago...a few.

My adjacent lawn has also been mostly free too. I am not using chemicals since 1970s. I don't think that a healthy lawn will choke them out by itself.
