Subject: N.C cattle market prices

nw NC
Here are links to N.C Cattle market price from NC Dept of Ag.
First is summary of all markets ending week of 3-20 https://www.ams.usda.gov/mnreports/ams_2091.pdf
Second is weighted average of 3-23 sale at a market that I normally patronize. https://www.ams.usda.gov/mnreports/ams_2088.pdf
Third is a small market about 60 miles from me. I have never been there. https://www.ams.usda.gov/mnreports/ams_2089.pdf
Slaughter cows are up in the past two weeks state wide . The small market sale on Wed. 3-18 had slaughter cows up 12.00-20.00 from week before. Top price at that small market was 91.00.
Top price 3-23 at market I sell was 86.00.

Packers around here must be needing more hamburger cows to be bidding them up in price. Of course prices being up could have been because of fewer numbers of cattle delivered. Numbers were down some possibly due to livestock producers concerns over virus and fear of prices dropping due to virus causing financial concerns in everything nationwide.
