Subject: Sure is dry out here - BREAKING NEWS - Wildfire burns southwest of Abilene

Big Country Area, area in and around Abilene TX

I am way north of the fire. The fire is South of I20. Plenty of dry pasture, cedar and mesquite brush in the Canyon. And there is some CRP ground out there also. Plenty of fuel for the wildfire.

BREAKING NEWS

Wildfire burns southwest of Abilene

ABILENE --  Several volunteer fire departments are fighting a large fire burning southwest of Abilene in the Mulberry Canyon area.  Authorities are now notifying people living in some homes in the path of the fire, which is burning to the south, to prepare to evacuate.  Some roads in the area have been closed including FM 89 several miles west of Highway 277.  Residents along the Nolan/Taylor County line and near the town of Nolan should closely monitor for advisories in case evacuations are ordered.  So far, no structures have burned.
