Subject: Eastern Nebraska hay questions

EC Nebraska
How's the hay supply looking for this winter? Is it worth it to put a few acres of PP into teff for small squares this September?

We're grain farmers, but do occasionally put up a few acres of brome into small squares for mulch and bedding for the yard livestock. I've got 20 acres of prevent plant that's about dry enough to work. I could disc it level, broadcast teff seed, and pack it down. The teff seed sellers say that should give a pretty good stand.

So I'm trying to get an idea if it looks like there might be good demand for hay this winter, or if there'll be so many other people doing something similar that there will be plenty to go around without my little bit.

Any thoughts from the hay users?
