Subject: Ace Centrifugal Pump Housing leaks on Sprayer Pump

West-Central Missouri
The front seal was leaking on my ace centrifugal pump, so I got a seal kit and replaced seals. While I had it apart I cleaned up where the housing bolts together as it
was getting a bit rusty, and replaced the o-ring that goes between the front and rear housing. It did not leak before, but it does now.
Is there a recommended way to fix that with silicone gasket material or something? It is not a bad leak. Sprayer Specialties told me that I will likely need to replace the rear housing, but I thought I would rather try a silicone or gasket first.
I recall reading a post on here about someone using a sealant with a molasses? consistency, but can not find it now.
Edit: it is an FMC 150 HYD

Thanks,

Greg
