Subject: JD vac meters.

NW Iowa
Just got a new to us 1780 12/23 to help with bean planting. Couple questions.
1. Meters do not have the seal ring between vac plate and metal inside housing. Dealer said they came with originally, then without and then back with again and can be run with or without. What is preferable? Want to run asap without waiting for any more parts.
2. What is everyone setting their vac pressure at? Book says 8, other neighbors say 12.
3. The vac motors are plumbed together. The hoses that go into hydraulic outlets on tractor both have iso coupler tip. The return hoses are tee'd together right by where they plug into tractor outlet.
Putting it on a NH TG series tractor. Book shows one hose could have a low pressure return coupling but this planter does not. Should I change the tip and dump to low pressure return or use as is? Dealer says use as is. Another neighbor has his hooked up as is the same. Our other Kinze has it hooked up into return.

New to JD vac planters and appreciate all help. I know the 1780 is not too preferred but the price was right so here we are.
