Subject: prospects for early planted corn

SE Iowa
Planted corn April 19,20, 22, 23. Still cannot row some of it but it is right there at spike. What is up is as yellow as can be and soil is saturated and very cold as Sunday it drizzled most of the day and temp was 47 degrees and rain again yesterday. I've had corn go 4 weeks before emergence before and it never fully recovered from being stunted. More rain is on the way for the weekend and prospect for replant does not look good. I would guess planting in my area to be 60-70% done but most will probably need to be redone or at least spotted in if weather gives us a window. I'm sure some NH3 has been lost but maybe it hasn't been broken down yet with the cold temps. Soybeans have cracked the surface but am more worried about them then corn as stage is set for damping off and SDS. Three days of 80 degrees is coming before next rain event Sat so we may come out alright yet. Have seen wet springs before but not this cold this long. The weeds don't even look good.
