Subject: 15 vs 30 inch rows

West Central IL
The last few years the neighbors who have had 30 inch rows have had the same yields as those of us planting 15's. 90% of our ground is heavy dirt and big square acreage fields. I know on the few smaller lighter soil fields the 15's will do better. I'm looking at going from a 3600 Kinze 16/31 to a 16-30 CIH 1200 for the bulk fill and variable rate mostly for corn.I figure on the few small fields and can cut the population and double plant to get the 15's if I want.
What population are you 30 inch guys planting your beans? I'm also thinking if rust does make it here during the growing season 30 inch rows might have an advantage.I'm open for any pros and cons.
