Subject: If you’re selling property contact for deed, are you liable for damage to the neighbors fence?

WC Illinois

We are selling a house contract for deed, a tree in the back yard fell on the neighbors fence. The neighbor says we have to pay for it. I think the buyer of the house should pay, insurance etc., and now the neighbor wants us to pay.
