perryton, tx | I found a cow in labor this evening, had the feet and water bag out when I first saw her. It was getting late but I figured I'd stick around and see if she'd have it before it got dark. She'd been up and down a number of times but the last time she stood up every cow within 50 yards went sprinting over to her, like a switch had been flipped or something. Since she was in some tall stalks and it was nearly dark I couldn't see what had happened so I drove over and there was the new calf in the headlights. The birth sure drew a crowd in a hurry. | |
