NEMO | Seen that before too, pretty neat. Sometimes new mom can't get the admirers shooed away, this is how baby gets to following the wrong mom sometimes. The babysitter thing is also valid, some body or a few will keep the calves grouped up while moms go graze or get a drink. Same thing when coyotes get too close. Usually the crowd keeps the calves circled up, while the guard duty cows go out to meet the intruders. Takes hfs a while to sort it all out, like any new mom. If you can identify the guard duty ones, it's good to have a few in with hfs to teach them | |
