NE Nebraska | I've got a 5 year old HP Pavilion P6000. Lately if I'm not on the computer for a half hour or so it kicks me off the internet. I'll do a trouble shoot and it will give me the message "Problems found: The default gateway is not available". It'll fix it and all is well.
What could be causing this? The troubleshooting fixes it each time but it's a nuisance because I have online backup and it stops me from being able to use my GoToMyPC to access my computer from my house.
I just recently took the cover off and blew out the dust because a fan was running loudly.
We just recently upgraded from 8 Mbps to 12 Mbps. Could that trigger it?
I've tried looking for new drivers but everything checks out as being current (but I'm not real knowledgeable in that area).
Is it a router issue? I've tried unplugging it and restarting. Neither of the other computers at the office are affected or getting kicked off the internet, but they are newer computers.
