Subject: Wide Load Route in NC Iowa

SE MN
I am wondering from anyone who knows the roads in the NC IA area who could critique this route. We are planning to pick up a 15' wide farm implement North of Ames and bring it home to SE MN. I am wondering if it would be better to go up Hwy 69 or Hwy 65 or if there is another better route. We plan to go North to either Hwy 9 or Hwy 105 and then East. From there we are getting close enough to home that I know the roads better. I see on the IADOT website that there is a bridge out on Hwy 69 near Garner and a detour around it...would this detour be an issue? If we take Hwy 65 then there is Mason City to go around and I am not sure if it would be advisable to go on the Ave of the Saints to S56 or possibly all the way to the road to Osage or to Floyd. Whatever route we decide, we will take it on the way down so that we can become more familiar with it for the trip home. Thanks!
