Subject: How to clean semi tanks of old diesel fuel deposit/algae

Northwest IL
Working on a semi that has sat for several(3-5) years. It runs but filters go bad within a few minutes or after setting for a couple weeks. After pumping the old/rotten fuel out of the tanks(there was almost 50 gallon in each 135 gallon tank) you can see the area of the tank that was exposed to the old fuel has a black/brown tarnish look and the top/unexposed area is shiny aluminum. Any suggestions for getting this out of both the tanks and keep us from fighting fuel filters for many miles to come? Tanks are 135 gallon aluminum that are painted to match the truck on the outside. Thanks for any responses
