Central Wi | Looking for advice before I call a layer. Been divorced 2 years. I got the farm she got the house in town. Judge gave her a reasonable amount of time to refinance the house. She hasn't done it yet. I know she's ahead on payments etc because I watch it. Buying some land and the bank wants her name off the deeds of other property. Made some calls and a quit claim deed is needed. She signs off. My bank will release her from the loan. Easy enough I thought. She refuses to sign off unless I sign off on house. I'd be making a huge mistake signing off the house deed if my name is on the mortgage is my thought. She has had 2 years since the divorce. Plus 3 prior to that we were separated so it's not like she didn't have time. I don't know what to do but im closing on new land next month and need this resolved. Do I sign the house off? Do I get a lawyer involved? Any advice is appreciated. | |
