Subject: Viper pro autoboom V's UC4 Norac

NW NSW Australia
Thinking about putting auto boom height and autoswath on our trailing boom 90ft, we operate over large contour banks (terraces) on controlled trafic 11-12mph.

We use Raven SCS700 to control everything now, boom, & planters, 2 channel VRA with a laptop running site mate. The lacal dealer sells both the Viper and Insight, as well as the Norac. They felt it was more cost effective to look at the Viper with autoboom as we already have the raven sensors etc, and they really haven't done anything with the Insight/Norac combo (Is that still happening?).

The main priority is the boom height and the Viper thing would certainly reduce cab clutter. But how well do these systems compare. My feeling would be that the Norac is more suitable as boom roll is a real issue.

Most likely cost is going to help decide if we go with just boom height, but the extra luxuries could be tempting. I haven't seen any numbers yet.

Any comments? Thanks in advance
