Subject: What provides higher yields? Row Cleaners vs. Liquid Starter Fert?

I am upgrading planters and am considering a JD 1780 12/23 or Kinze 2600 or 3600 12/23. I would prefer a Kinze, but they are more expensive. I live in SE IA and this planter will be 100% no-till. Most planters I am looking at do not have the setup I am looking for.

I am on a budget and want to know, based on your experience, what provides better higher yields?
1. Row Cleaners/Whippers (Martin or Yetter) and spiked closing wheels
OR
2. Liquid starter fert tanks side x side band surface applied?

Thanks
