Not sure where to go with this. Small town church, need weekly news sheet and tri monthly news bulletin [3 or 4 double sided sheets]. Maybe 1000 A4's a month on average. Have had an 'on contract' copier in the church office, capable of A3, [virtually never used], colour [used occasionally - could do without] and double sided [ most stuff done]. We have been offered a change over price for a new Canon with all the above features, $3500, and 0.6 cents/copy for black and white, 6 cents/copy for colour [even ONE word colour]. But with our usual run of copying we would actually be 2 or 3 cents/copy for black and white This is under a 'service contract' which covers all toner, parts and labour. Wondering if we should buy out a smaller machine, A4 and duplex, and just 'run with it'. Estimates of toner come out about 0.5 cents/copy, and we are wondering if the reliability of a modern new machine would mean the chances of needing "labour & parts." would be fairly slim! Seen a machine which I reckon would do our job for under $900. As I said, not sure where to go with this, but would welcome any comment. Thanks. |
